Thang Long Boulevard: A Flood solution takes shape

For years, Thang Long Boulevard has been one of Hanoi’s most persistent flooding hotspots. During periods of heavy rain, images of waterlogged roads, severe traffic disruption and kilometre-long traffic queues have become all too familiar. It has long been regarded as one of the capital’s most flood-prone transport corridors.

One notable example was the Dan Tri headline: “Thang Long Boulevard Still Severely Flooded, Traffic Backed Up for Nearly 10 km on the Expressway.” Read the full article.

In 2026, HAPUMA is proud to contribute to this major flood-control initiative in partnership with the Hanoi Technical Infrastructure Management Center and project contractors. Every HAPUMA pump installed forms part of the city’s drainage infrastructure, helping Hanoi respond more effectively to heavy rainfall and enhancing the reliability of its urban drainage system.

Today, a long-standing flooding challenge is moving closer to a lasting solution.
